Jamie Carragher makes bold prediction about Chelsea and Arsenal this season
Jamie Carragher predicts how the top four of the Premier League will look at the end of the season
Jamie Carragher believes that both Chelsea and Liverpool will finish in the top four this season – ahead of Arsenal.
Liverpool kick off the new campaign with a tricky trip to The Emirates to take on Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, while Chelsea host West Ham United on Monday night in Antonio Conte’s first season in charge.
The stage is set for one of the most intriguing Premier League seasons in recent history as the countdown to kick-off continues.
Carragher feels that the fact that both Liverpool and Chelsea are not set to compete in European competition this season will play into their hands.
And when asked to predict how the top four of the Premier League table will look at the end of the season, Carragher told Sky Sports News HQ: “Man City, Chelsea, Man United, Liverpool.
“With no European football, I think Chelsea will do well because they’ll have more time together on the training pitch. Only 12 months ago they were champions and we shouldn’t forget that, while Antonio Conte is a top manager.
“I think Liverpool will also benefit from not having European football.”
Arsenal finished second in the table last season and 10 points behind surprise champions Leicester as they were forced to end the campaign without a trophy.
Chelsea finished 10th, while Liverpool ended up eighth under Jurgen Klopp.
