Jamie Redknapp comments on new Liverpool signing

Jamie Redknapp praises Liverpool's signing of Ragnar Klavan this summer

Jamie Redknapp has hailed Liverpool’s signing of Ragnar Klavan this summer as Jurgen Klopp prepares for his first season in charge at the club.

The Reds have brought in a number of new players during the summer transfer window and Klopp made a point of strengthening his defensive options with the signing of 30-year-old Estonia captain Klavan.

Klopp will be hoping to see his side improve on their disappointing eighth-placed finish in the Premier League last season as the 2016-17 campaign draws ever nearer.

And former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp has given his nod of approval to the Reds’ transfer business and says that Klavan could prove to be a top signing for the Merseyside outfit.

Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning, Redknapp said: “Klavan is a no nonsense player. He might be just what they need at centre-back.”

Liverpool kick off their Premier League campaign with a trip to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
