Jamie Redknapp has heaped praise on Paul Pogba after the Manchester United signing impressed in Friday night’s 2-0 win against Southampton at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils recorded their second Premier League victory of the 2016/17 season courtesy of goals either side of half-time from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Pogba made his second United debut at Old Trafford on Friday night after the 23-year-old completed a £92m world-record transfer to United from Serie A giants Juventus.

And former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Redknapp was very impressed with Pogba’s contribution against the Saints following his big-money move.

“Pogba was incredible. What a performance seeing as it was his first game. I was so impressed with his all round game,” Redknapp told Sky Sports after United’s 2-0 win on Friday night.

United cemented their place at the top of the Premier League table after Friday night’s 2-0 win against Southampton.

Ibrahimovic has scored four goals in three competitive games for the Red Devils since his free transfer from French champions Paris Saint-Germain last month.

United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson won his 13th and final top-flight crown.

The Red Devils will face promoted side Hull City in their next Premier League fixture next Saturday.
