Jose Mourinho admits he’s been watching Man United target on Instagram
Jose Mourinho discusses Paul Pogba's imminent transfer to Manchester United
Jose Mourinho has admitted that he has been impressed by Paul Pogba’s range of physical activity posted on his personal Instagram account.
The France midfielder is due to become a Manchester United player for the second time this week, with the 23-year-old set to undergo a medical with the Red Devils in the coming days.
United’s move for Pogba has been one of the longest running transfer sagas in recent history, with the midfielder having been relentlessly linked with a return to Old Trafford throughout the summer.
United announced on Sunday that Juventus had given the player permission to undergo a medical with the Red Devils ahead of his transfer back to the Premier League club.
And with his medical seemingly scheduled for Tuesday, Mourinho has admitted that he was keeping tabs on Pogba via Instagram.
Speaking at his post-match news conference after Manchester United beat Leicester to win the Community Shield on Sunday, Mourinho said: “[We will sign him] if he goes well in the medical, which I think he goes because I see on Instagram he does kung fu, running, basketball, football so he must be fit.
“So on Tuesday I will be there waiting for him. United is the perfect club to bring him to the level he wants to be. The Premier League is the perfect habitat for that.
“If you want to be the best player in the world, if you go to Barcelona or Real Madrid you are in trouble because I don’t think think other two big guys will let you develop into that level.
“Here he has the conditions to develop in the most seen world wide championship, which is incredible, with a team that wants to bring Manchester United to the top again.”
