Juan Mata has taken to social media to dedicate Manchester United’s Community Shield triumph to the club’s fans.

The Spaniard was a second-half substitute as United beat Leicester City 2-1 thanks to goals from Jesse Lingard and Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Wembley as the Red Devils won their first trophy under new manager Jose Mourinho.

Mata hit the headlines on Sunday after Mourinho brought him on as a substitute, only to bring him off again in the dying moments.

Mourinho clearly explained that his decision was for the good of the team as he addressed the media after the game.

And the Spanish playmaker appeared to be in good spirits as he posed for a picture in the dressing room with his new trophy after the game.

Mata posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “This one, as every trophy, is for you! Thanks once again for your amazing support! #communityshield”
