Jurgen Klopp comments on remaining Liverpool transfer plans
Jurgen Klopp reveals his remaining transfer plans for Liverpool this summer
Jurgen Klopp has told Liverpool fans that he is still open to further strengthening his squad before the close of the current transfer window.
The German coach has already been very busy in the summer window ahead of his first full season in charge at Anfield, bringing in seven new players to bolster his squad.
Liverpool have signed Marko Grujic, Joel Matip, Loris Karius, Sadio Mane, Ragnar Klavan, Alex Manninger and Georginio Wijnaldum so far as they gear up for the new season.
However, the Liverpool boss has hinted that he could be set to bring in some further reinforcements before the close of the summer transfer window at the end of the month.
Klopp told Liverpool’s website over the weekend: “I’m happy with the squad but then on the injury side if something happens we have to react, that’s how it is.
“We have a few more players than you can bring in a lineup, that’s true, but we already have a few injuries in positions that are not too good for us.
“We have to keep our eyes open, that’s absolutely clear, and we will do this. Until August 31, [as long as] something is possible for us, why should I say it’s over? We have the possibility to react if we need to and that’s what we will do I’m pretty sure.”
The Reds finished eighth in the Premier League table last season after Klopp was appointed as the club’s new manager back in October following the sacking of Brendan Rodgers.
