Latest on Arsenal’s link to Alexandre Lacazette – report
Lyon have absolutely no intention of selling Alexandre Lacazette this summer, according to reports
Arsenal have been dealt a big blow in their pursuit of Alexandre Lacazette this summer, according to reports in France.
French media outlet Le Progres – as reported in the Daily Express – are claiming that Lyon have absolutely no intention of selling their star striker in the summer transfer window.
The same report states that the Ligue 1 outfit are under no pressure to sell the France international striker after receiving £20m from the sale of Samuel Umtiti to Barcelona.
Arsenal have already had one £29m bid publicly turned down by the French club as Arsene Wenger looks to add some more firepower to his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
However, the report could signal the end of the north London side’s interest in signing Lacazette this summer, with Lyon looking desperate to keep hold of their star man.
Gunners boss Wenger has also looked to sign Jamie Vardy from Leicester City in the current transfer window as he searches for attacking reinforcements.
Arsenal finished second last season, 10 points behind champions Leicester.
