Lyon boss makes admission about Alexandre Lacazette amid Arsenal link
Lyon manager Bruno Genesio delivers an update about Alexandre Lacazette's transfer situation
Lyon manager Bruno Genesio has admitted that the French club remain open to the possibility of selling Alexandre Lacazette in the summer transfer window amid the speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal.
The Gunners have already had one bid for Lacazette rejected by the French side as Arsene Wenger continues his search for a new striker this summer.
Wenger is thought to be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements as he prepares his squad for the new season but it remains to be seen if the Gunners will return with an improved offer for the forward this summer.
However, Genesio has now admitted that the striker could leave the French club in the summer transfer window if another offer arrives.
Genesio is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News HQ: “He can leave if Lyon want him to.
“There are some offers that you cannot refuse. My desire as manager is that the best players stay and Lacazette is very important for the team.
“I have been assured by my president that we will keep the player. You never know what could happen right up until 31 August.”
Arsenal finished second in the Premier League last season, 10 points behind champions Leicester City as they ended the campaign without a trophy.
