Lyon president makes annoucement about Arsenal’s bid for Alexandre Lacazette
Jean-Michel Aulas says Arsenal will not return with an improved offer to sign Alexandre Lacazette
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has claimed that Arsenal will not return with an improved offer to sign Alexandre Lacazette this summer.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a bid to bring the French striker to The Emirates this summer as Arsene Wenger looks to strengthen his attacking options.
Lyon announced last week that the north London club had had a bid in the region of £29.3m turned down by the Ligue 1 outfit for the France international.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will return with an improved offer for the forward – but Lyon chief Aulas appears to be confident that the Gunners have ended their interest in the striker.
Aulas is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News HQ: “Arsenal have not come back and will not come back. No-one will leave Lyon.”
Arsenal finished second in the Premier League last season as they ended up 10 points behind champions Leicester City in the Premier League table.
The Gunners have not won the top-flight title since the 2003-04 season.
