Jose Mourinho will take charge of Manchester United for the first time at Old Trafford on Friday night as the Premier League leaders host Southampton.

The Red Devils will be buoyed by their 3-1 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium last Sunday as the 20-time English champions made a winning start to life under Mourinho.

Juan Mata broke the deadlock for the visitors before United captain Wayne Rooney doubled their lead to all but seal three points from their Premier League opener on the south coast.

One of Mourinho’s summer signings – Zlatan Ibrahimovic – added a third shortly after Rooney’s goal to cap an impressive performance from United, who certainly have their swagger back.

Southampton have once again lost a number of key players this summer, including Victor Wanyama after the Kenyan midifielder moved to Tottenham Hotspur in a £25m deal.

The Saints are also under new management after Claude Puel was named as Ronald Koeman’s successor following the Dutchman’s appointment as Everton’s new head coach.

Here is a round-up of the best betting offers on Manchester United v Southampton, including a tempting Paddy Power enhancement on Mourinho’s side to secure a second successive victory.

Man Utd to beat Southampton – 4/1

The Tipster is offering new Paddy Power customers enhanced odds of 4/1 on Manchester United to beat Southampton on Friday.

Man Utd v Southampton prediction

The Red Devils will be full of confidence following their 3-1 win at Bournemouth in their opening Premier League game. United have a poor record at home to the Saints in recent seasons but Mourinho will put that right on a night when Red Devils supporters should get their first glimpse of Paul Pogba.

Prediction: Manchester United 2 Southampton 0
