Mark Lawrenson has poured cold water on talk of Arsenal beating Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

The Gunners have the chance to return to winning ways at the King Power Stadium as Arsene Wenger’s side take on the reigning champions.

Arsenal suffered a 4-3 defeat by title rivals Liverpool in their Premier League opener at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon despite Theo Walcott giving the Gunners a first-half lead.

Leicester, meanwhile, lost 2-1 to promoted side Hull City as the Premier League champions made a disappointing start to the defence of their top-flight crown.

Former Liverpoool defender Lawrenson believes Arsenal will be held to a draw at Leicester on Saturday evening despite beating Claudio Ranieri’s side in both of their Premier League games last season.

“Leicester have lots of pace in their attack too, and I can see them causing Arsenal more problems,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.

“The Foxes will have Robert Huth back from suspension in their defence, which will make a difference too.

“Arsenal were the only team to beat them home and away last season, but they will have to settle for a point this time.”

Arsenal manager Wenger has only signed three players in the summer transfer window despite being linked with a host of players, including Japanese forward Takuma Asano and Bolton Wanderers defender Rob Holding.
