Mesut Ozil is set to report to Arsenal for pre-season training in the coming days

Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to reveal that he is due to return to training with Arsenal in the coming days as he turns his attentions towards the new Premier League season.

The Germany playmaker has been enjoying an extended summer holiday following his involvement in Euro 2016 with his country.

Ozil watched his Arsenal team-mates beat Chivas 3-1 in their most recent pre-season friendly clash in the US on Sunday night.

And the 27-year-old has revealed that he is looking forward to starting his pre-season training preparations as he looks ahead to the 2016-17 campaign.

Ozil posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Joined the @Arsenal team before the final game of the US tour. I’ll be back in training soon… #YaGunnersYa #AFC #ArsenalUSA”

Ozil will be hoping to help Arsenal end their long wait for the Premier League title next season.

The playmaker helped the Gunners win the FA Cup in his first two seasons at the club but Arsenal finished the last campaign without a trophy as they ended up second in the Premier League.
