Mourinho delivers latest Man United injury update ahead of Bournemouth trip
Jose Mourinho confirms that Manchester United have no new injury concerns heading into Sunday's opener
Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Manchester United have no fresh injury concerns heading into their Premier League clash with Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils are preparing for their first Premier League game under their new manager following his appointment as the club’s new boss back in May.
Mourinho will be hoping to get United’s campaign off to a winning start when the Red Devils take on Eddie Howe’s men this weekend.
And the Portuguese coach has confirmed that he has no fresh injury concerns heading into the game, though Paul Pogba and Chris Smalling are both suspended.
Pogba will miss out due to an accumulation of yellow cards during his final few games for Juventus.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference on Friday afternoon, Mourinho confirmed that he has no fresh injury concerns, and then stated his ambition to lead United to the title in his first season in charge at Old Trafford.
Mourinho said: “We feel that we are a candidate to win the title. We know that others have the same ambitions as us.
“If, at the end of the season, somebody who is champion has been better than us, then great – that is football. In this moment as Manchester United Football Club, we cannot speak differently. We are going to fight for the title.”
