New Arsenal signing gushes with praise for Mesut Ozil

Granit Xhaka admits he can't wait to play with Mesut Ozil at Arsenal this season

Granit Xhaka has heaped praise on Mesut Ozil as the midfielder prepares for his first season at Arsenal.

The Swiss midfielder is currently gearing up for his first taste of Premier League action following his summer transfer to The Emirates.

Xhaka will be hoping to be involved when Arsenal host Liverpool at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon in their first Premier League game of the season.

Ozil, meanwhile, is unlikely to be involved after only recently returning to training following his extended summer holiday.

However, the 23-year-old Xhaka admits that he cannot wait to line up alongside former Real Madrid star Ozil for his new club.

Speaking in an interview with Arsenal Player, Xhaka said: “I don’t know a better No10 than Mesut.

“He’s very important for this team, as he’s shown in the past. He has his qualities, he’s something special and I hope he shows that next season.

“He’s played for Germany, for Real Madrid and is a terrific player. He’s got an excellent final pass and a superb first touch.

“I’m definitely looking forward to playing alongside him.”

Arsenal will be hoping to build on their second-placed finish in the Premier League last season this time around.
