Paul Pogba makes bold claim about Jose Mourinho and Man United
Paul Pogba explains how Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho can improve him
Paul Pogba is confident that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will help to improve the France midfielder.
The 23-year-old completed a £92m world-record transfer to Old Trafford last week just four years after Pogba moved to Juventus in an £800,000 deal in 2012.
The France international will play under Mourinho for the first time after having previously been coached by Sir Alex Ferguson, Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri.
Pogba scored eight times and made 12 assists in 35 Serie A appearances last season as the box-to-box midfielder won his fourth successive Italian top-flight crown.
However, United’s club-record signing Pogba is confident that Mourinho will have a positive impact on his career ahead of Friday night’s clash against Southampton at Old Trafford.
“I’m sure he will improve me. He knows how to talk to players and to help achieve their objectives and stuff,” Pogba told MUTV in the video below.
United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 as the Red Devils won their last top-flight crown under Ferguson.
Pogba was suspended for United’s opening Premier League game of the season on Sunday afternoon as the Red Devils were 3-1 winners against Bournemouth.
Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic all found the net for United on the south coast.
