Bastian Schweinsteiger has a message for his Manchester United team-mates

Bastian Schweinsteiger has taken to social media to congratulated his Manchester United team-mates on winning the Community Shield on Sunday.

The German midfielder was not included in Jose Mourinho’s matchday squad as the Red Devils beat Leicester City 2-1 at Wembley to win their first trophy under their new manager.

Schweinsteiger is largely expected to leave Manchester United before the close of the summer transfer window after apparently being deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford by new manager Mourinho.

However, that did not prevent the 32-year-old from sending a classy message of congratulations to his team-mates on Sunday evening.

Schweinsteiger posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account on Sunday and wrote: “Congratulations on winning the #CommunityShield! Great performance, guys! @manchesterunited”

Manchester United will now turn their attentions towards their Premier League opener against Bournemouth on Sunday as they look to kick off their season with three points under their new manager.

The Red Devils finished fifth and won the FA Cup last term.
