Eden Hazard reflects on Chelsea's 2-1 victory over West Ham on Monday night
Eden Hazard was still reflecting on Chelsea’s winning start to the Premier League season on Wednesday evening after the midfielder opened his account for the 2016/17 campaign.
The Belgium international broke the deadlock minutes into the second half from the penalty spot after Michail Antonio was punished for some sloppy defending.
The 25-year-old’s opener was cancelled out by West Ham’s Wales defender James Collins but Diego Costa managed to rescue a point for the home side with a minute left of normal time.
Hazard endured a miserable 2015/16 Premier League campaign under Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink despite being named the PFA player of the year in the previous season.
But the Belgian forward appeared in a noticeably buoyant mood as Hazard reflected on Chelsea’s winning start to the Premier League season.
Hazard posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:
“Great start at the Bridge on Monday, looks awesome in @easportsfifa too!! #FIFA17 #CFC #football #fifa #ad”
The Blues star scored 14 times in 36 Premier League appearances in Chelsea’s title-winning campaign in 2015.
Hazard didn’t score his first top-flight goal until April this year after a miserable 2015/16 season.
