Erik Lamela has shown his commitment to Tottenham Hotspur as the midfielder counts down the days until the new Premier League season.

The Argentina international told Sky Sports New HQ that he has never considered leaving the Lilywhites despite past uncertainty surrounding his future at White Hart Lane.

Lamela enjoyed his best season at the north London club to date last term after the South American netted five goals and made nine assists in 34 Premier League games.

The former Roma midfielder has featured heavily in Tottenham’s pre-season campaign in Australia as Mauricio Pochettino puts his players through their paces ahead of the new season.

And Lamela can’t wait to get back to Premier League football, as the Argentina international posted on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:

“11 Days for the start of the Premier League ⚽… #11days #COYS #whitehartlane”

Tottenham will start the new season with a difficult trip to Ronald Koeman’s new-look Everton side at Goodison Park on 13 August.

Pochettino’s side finished in third place in the Premier League table last season.

Spurs finished the 2015/16 campaign with a four-game winless run.
