Memphis Depay appears ready to fight for his place at Manchester United
Memphis Depay has taken to social media to suggest that he is ready to stay and fight for his place in the Manchester United first team under Jose Mourinho.
The Netherlands international’s future at Old Trafford has been a source of speculation after a mixed first season at the club and the arrival of Mourinho as the Red Devils’ new boss.
It remains to be seen whether Depay will feature as a regular fixture in Mourinho’s starting line-up at Old Trafford this season.
However, the winger appears determined to prove himself to his new manager, if his latest post on Instagram is anything to go by.
Depay posted the picture above of himself in action in Wayne Rooney’s testimonial game on the photo-sharing app and wrote: “⚽️ ❤️ #DreamChaser”
United moved quickly to appoint Mourinho as the club’s new manager following Louis van Gaal’s sacking back in May.
Depay arrived at United from PSV Eindhoven to much fanfare last May but only managed to score twice in the Premier League last season.
