Mesut Ozil was feeling in an upbeat mood ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Premier League champions Leicester City on Saturday evening.
The Gunners lost 4-3 to title rivals Liverpool in their Premier League opener at the Emirates Stadium last weekend as goals from Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane sealed a win for the visitors.
Ozil missed the first game of the Premier League season as the Germany international continued to regain his fitness following a demanding European championship campaign with his national team this summer.
However, the Arsenal club record signing trained with the rest of his team-mates at London Colney on Friday as manager Arsene Wenger put his players through their paces ahead of Saturday evening’s game at Leicester.
And the German is feeling positive despite the prospect of facing the Premier League champions at the King Power Stadium.
Ozil posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:
“I wish you a happy weekend 👍😉”
Arsenal were the only Premier League side to beat the champions home and away last season but Wenger’s side still finished 10 points behind Claudio Ranieri’s men.
