The Switzerland international was the first and the most expensive of Wenger’s summer signings – so far – after the midfielder completed a £33m move to the Gunners from Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach at the start of the summer.
Xhaka was a second-half substitute as Arsenal lost 4-3 to title rivals Liverpool in their opening Premier League game of the season at the Emirates Stadium last weekend.
The new signing’s only contribution in their disappointing opening fixture was to pick up a yellow card as Xhaka was unable to inspire a late comeback.
But the 23-year-old is in a determined mood to help Arsenal return to winning ways this weekend ahead of their trip to the Premier League champions on Saturday evening.
Xhaka posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:
“Focus for tomorrow 👀”
Arsenal finished in second place in the Premier League table last season but 10 points behind champions Leicester.
