Michy Batshuayi talks up striker partnership with Chelsea star Diego Costa
Michy Batshuayi is confident that he can forge a deadly strike partnership with Chelsea striker Diego Costa following his move to Stamford Bridge.
The Belgium international was the first of Antontio Conte’s summer signings after the west London side completed a £34m deal with Ligue 1 side Marseille for the 23-year-old striker in July.
Batshuayi has been training with his new team-mates in United States as Conte gets his Chelsea squad ready for the new Premier League season following his appointment as Guus Hiddink’s replacement.
The former l’OM star managed to score an impressive 17 times in 36 Ligue 1 games last season which is more than Costa managed in the Premier League after a return of just 12 goals.
However, Batshuayi appears confident of helping Costa rediscover his clinical edge this coming season as he posted a photo with the Spain international on his Instagram page.
Batshuayi wrote the following caption on the photo-sharing app:
“Strikeforce on point 👊😏 @diego.costa”
Chelsea finished in tenth place in the Premier League table last season after a disappointing defence of their top-flight title.
The Blues will start the new season with a clash against bitter London rivals West Ham.
