Loris Karius poses with his girlfriend for a photo as the Liverpool goalkeeper recovers from injury
Loris Karius was in good form as he celebrated his stunning girlfriend’s birthday on Saturday despite the goalkeeper’s recent injury setback.
The Germany Under-21 international is expected to be sidelined for up to six weeks after he broke his hand during Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat by Chelsea in the International Champions Cup in Pasadena last month.
Karius was handed the number one shirt following his £4.7m move to Liverpool from Bundesliga side Mainz at the start of the summer as Jurgen Klopp signed real competition for Simon Mignolet.
But the 23-year-old’s injury means the Belgium international has a chance to re-establish himself as Klopp’s undisputed first-choice goalkeeper before Karius’s return.
However, Karius was still in high spirits despite his hand break as he posed for a photo with his model girlfriend Annelie Alpert and some friends to celebrate the blonde beauty’s birthday.
Alpert posted the below photo on her Instagram page without a caption on Saturday evening.
Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League table last season after Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers as their manager.
The Reds signed Mignolet in a £9m deal from Sunderland in 2014.
