Henrikh Mkhitaryan was delighted to make his first Man United appearance at Old Trafford

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has reflected on his first appearance for Manchester United after the midfielder starred in Wednesday night’s goalless draw with Everton.

The Armenia international completed a £30m move to the Red Devils from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund earlier last month ending months of speculation linking the midfielder with a switch to the 20-time English champions.

Mkhitaryan featured in a 4-1 loss to his former employers Dortmund in China in July before he played in a thrilling 5-2 victory over Turkish side Galatasaray in Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s native Sweden at the weekend.

However, the 27-year-old got his first chance of sampling Old Trafford as a United player on Wednesday night as the summer signing featured in Wayne Rooney’s testimonial game between Everton and United.

And the Armenian playmaker took to his Instagram page to reflect on his first appearance at Old Trafford following the stalemate between the Premier League rivals on Rooney’s big night.

Mkhitaryan posted the above photo on the photo-sharing app and wrote the following caption:

“Amazing to play my first game at Old Trafford and to take part in @waynerooney ‘s testimonial!”
