Thibaut Courtois is ready for Chelsea's trip to Watford on Saturday
Thibaut Courtois is already switching his focus to Chelsea’s next game against Watford after Antonio Conte’s side made a winning start to the new Premier League season on Monday night.
The Blues were dramatic 2-1 winners against bitter rivals West Ham United after Diego Costa netted an 89th-minute winner for the west London side at Stamford Bridge.
Hammers defender James Collins had earlier cancelled out Eden Hazard’s first-half penalty as Conte began his Chelsea reign with a win in his first London derby.
Courtois, who endured an injury-hit 2015/16 Premier League campaign, started in goal for the Blues ahead of Bosnian shot stopper Asmir Begovic.
And the Belgian goalkeeper took to his Instagram page to reflect on Chelsea’s close-fought win and rally his team-mates ahead of next weekend’s derby at Vicarage Road.
Courtois posted the following caption to accompany the above photo:
“Great performance and a deserved win! Working towards Watford now! Come on Chelsea!!! 🔵⚪️ #CFC”
The Belgium international won his first Premier League title as part of Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side in 2015.
The Blues goalkeeper moved to west London in 2011 before he spent three consecutive seasons at Atletico Madrid on loan.
