Toby Alderweireld posed for a selfie with England international Eric Dier as the Tottenham Hotspur pair prepared for the visit of Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

The Lilywhites were forced to come from behind to rescue a result in their Premier League opener at Goodison Park after Ross Barkley handed Everton an early first-half lead on Saturday afternoon.

However, the north London side rallied in the second half and Erik Lamela equalised after the break to secure a point against Ronald Koeman’s new-look Everton side.

Tottenham do remain winless in their last five Premier League games, though, after Mauricio Pochettino’s side ended the 2015/16 season without a victory in four games.

However, Spurs centre-halves Alderweireld and Dier looked to be in good spirits as the Tottenham duo prepared for Saturday’s visit of their London rivals Palace at White Hart Lane.

Alderweireld posted the above selfie and wrote the following caption on his Instagram page:

“@ericdier15 With the big man himself”

Alderweireld completed a £12.5m move to Tottenham from their Premier League rivals Southampton last summer.
