Granit Xhaka didn’t appear to be holding back in Arsenal’s final training session ahead of Saturday’s trip to Premier League champions Leicester City.

The Gunners will be hoping to record their first victory of the 2016/17 season after Arsenal suffered a 4-3 defeat by title rivals Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium last weekend.

Xhaka was a second-half substitute in the seven-goal thriller but the £33m summer signing’s only telling contribution was to earn a yellow card in the dying minutes of the game.

But the Switzerland international looked to be doing his utmost to impress manager Arsene Wenger as he battled with Chile international Alexis Sanchez.

In what will be a welcome sight for Arsenal supporters, Olivier Giroud, Mesut Ozil and Laurent Koscielny all took part in Arsenal’s training session at London Colney.

The Gunners managed to beat Leicester at the King Power Stadium and the Emirates Stadium last season despite the Foxes winning the title.

Here is a round-up of the best photos from Arsenal’s training session.
