Loris Karius trains with the Liverpool squad despite his hand break at Melwood on Tuesday afternoon
Loris Karius trained with the Liverpool squad despite his broken hand on Tuesday as the Germany goalkeeper looks to make a swift return to first-team action.
The Germany Under-21 international suffered the injury during Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat by Chelsea in the International Champions Cup in Pasadena during their pre-season tour of United States last month.
Karius was signed in a £4.7m deal from Bundesliga side Mainz in May and Jurgen Klopp handed the shot stopper the number one shirt in a clear sign that he was signed to push Simon Mignolet.
England striker Daniel Sturridge took part in first-team training after the 26-year-old missed Sunday’s 4-3 victory over Arsenal due to a lack of fitness following a niggling issue in recent weeks.
Liverpool’s man of the match at the Emirates Stadium was Philippe Coutinho after the Brazil international scored twice in north London as Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane also found the net.
