Possible Arsenal boost as Riyad Mahrez follows Gunners star on Twitter
Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez follows Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo on Twitter
Riyad Mahrez has offered optimistic Arsenal supporters hope that a deal could be in the works for the Leicester City star after the midfielder followed a Gunners player on Twitter.
L’Equipe – as quoted by The Independent – are reporting that Leicester have rejected a £30m offer from the north London side for their prized midfielder in the summer transfer window.
Mahrez scored 17 times and made 11 assists as the Algeria international helped to fire Claudio Ranieri’s men to an unlikely Premier League title in the Italian’s first season in charge.
The Foxes have already lost N’Golo Kante to Chelsea in a £30m deal earlier this summer but Jamie Vardy has committed his future to Leicester despite interest from Arsenal.
But worryingly for the Premier League champions, Mahrez followed Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo on Thursday as shown in the photo below in what some presumed to be a hint that a deal could be on the cards.
Arsenal finished 10 points behind Premier League champions Leicester last season as Arsene Wenger’s side could only muster a second-place finish despite the disappointing form of their title rivals.
