Possible Chelsea blow as defender enters into talks with Napoli – report
Kalidou Koulibaly is in talks with Napoli over a new contract, according to reports in Italy
Kalidou Koulibaly has entered into talks with Napoli over a new contract despite speculation linking the Senegal international with a move this summer, according to reports in Italy.
Sky Italia – as quoted by Football Italia – are claiming that Napoli have made a renewed effort to keep Koulibaly after the Serie A side held talks with the centre-half.
The same story states that Chelsea have been linked with the African defender as Antonio Conte prepares for his first season in charge of the Premier League club.
The Italian has been linked with a number of Serie A players throughout the summer transfer window, although Conte has only signed Michy Batshuayi and N’Golo Kante so far.
Koulibaly has been a mainstay of the Napoli side after the 25-year-old moved to the Naples outfit from Belgium side Racing Genk in 2014.
The Senegal centre-half has scored one goal in 81 appearances for Napoli over the past two seasons.
Chelsea will start their Premier League campaign with a home clash against West Ham United at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
