Rio Ferdinand reacts on Twitter as Arsenal lose 4-3 to Liverpool

Rio Ferdinand has a question for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger

Rio Ferdinand has questioned why Arsene Wenger hasn’t signed a centre-half this summer after Arsenal lost 4-3 to Liverpool at The Emirates in their Premier League opener on Sunday.

The Gunners eased into a 1-0 lead thanks to Theo Walcott after the England international had earlier missed a penalty following Alberto Moreno’s reckless tackle.

However, Philippe Coutinho levelled on the stroke of half-time with a brilliant free-kick and the Brazilian netted after the break along with Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane to leave the visitors in control.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Calum Chambers managed to peg Liverpool back to make it 4-3 with 15 minutes remaining, but Wenger’s side were unable to find a winner.

Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand was left perplexed at Wenger’s failure to sign a new centre-half given the injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista.
