The Red Devils are currently gearing up for their top-flight opener against Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon as the look to get the campaign off to a positive start.

United finished fifth in the Premier League table last season but there is a fresh sense of optimism around the club following Mourinho’s appointment as the new boss at Old Trafford.

And Savage is tipping the Red Devils to win their first Premier League title since 2013 this season.

The former Derby County midfielder is also expecting to see Liverpool secure Champions League qualification in Jurgen Klopp’s first full campaign at Anfield by tipping them to finish fourth this season.

Speaking to William Hill, Savage said: “I am going to go United to win it. Great manager, Mourinho, some very, very, very good signings.

“City in second. Guardiola have got Stones at the back now to partner Kompany.

“Third place – I am going to go for Spurs. Harry Kane will score goals again.

“And in fourth position Liverpool. They have made some good signings – Mane’s pace, Wijnaldum in midfield. So there’s my top four – no Arsenal, no Chelsea.”
