Ryan Giggs: Why I’m worried about Liverpool this season

Ryan Giggs admits that he is concerned about the threat posed by Liverpool in the Premier League this season

Ryan Giggs has admitted that he is concerned about the threat posed by Liverpool to Manchester United’s title hopes this season.

The Reds have kicked off their first full season under new manager Jurgen Klopp as they look to improve on their eighth-placed finish in the Premier League last season.

Klopp was appointed as Brendan Rodgers’ permanent successor back in October and will be hoping to steer Liverpool into the European places this season.

Liverpool missed out on qualification for any European competition this season after they ended up in eighth place, despite reaching the League Cup and Europa League finals.

However, former Manchester United assistant manager Giggs has admitted that he is worried by the threat posed by the Merseyside outfit this season and feels that Klopp has made some astute signings this summer.

Speaking in an interview published on YouTube, Giggs said: “As a United fan – I’m slightly worried about Liverpool as I think they’ve bought pretty decent and they’ve got no european football.

“They’ve got a week to prepare for games, so I’m a little bit worried about Liverpool.”
