Stan Collymore likened Liverpool to Arsenal at their worst after Saturday evening’s 2-0 defeat by Burnley.

The Reds suffered a surprise setback in their bid to challenge for the Premier League this season at Turf Moor after Jurgen Klopp’s side were 4-3 winners against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last weekend.

Sam Vokes broke the deadlock for the home side in the second minute as the striker managed to guide a finish past Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

The Reds suffered a further setback eight minutes before half-time when Andre Gray doubled the visitors’s lead.

Klopp’s men registered 26 shots on goal but the Reds could only guide five of those on target as Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge failed to test the Burnley goalkeeper.

Former Liverpool striker Collymore likened the Reds’s performance to Arsenal at their worst after Saturday’s disappointing result.

Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League table last season after a disappointing end to the Premier League season.

The Reds have never won the Premier League title despite finishing in the runners-up spot twice.
