Thierry Henry: Why I’m so excited to watch this Liverpool signing

Thierry Henry admits his excitement about seeing Sadio Mane line up for Liverpool this season

Thierry Henry has admitted that he is excited to see how Sadio Mane adapts to life at Liverpool this season.

The striker signed for the Reds from Southampton earlier in the summer as Jurgen Klopp moved quickly to bolster his attacking options ahead of his first full season in charge at Anfield.

Mane will be hoping to be involved when Liverpool kick off their Premier League campaign with a tricky trip to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

And former Arsenal striker Henry admits that he is fascinated to see how Mane adapts to life with the Merseyside outfit.

Asked to pick which player he is most excited to watch next season, Henry told Sky Sports News HQ: “There’s the usual suspects like Zlatan and Pogba – but the outsider for me who I think will have a good season is Sadio Mane at Liverpool.

“I want to see how he is going to do and with the way Liverpool play I think he could have a very good season and be a crowd favourite.”

Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League table last season after Klopp was brought in as Brendan Rodgers’ permanent successor back in October.

The Reds do not have any European competition to worry about this season as they focus on domestic affairs.
