Watch: Bastian Schweinsteiger thanks Man United supporters for positive messages

Bastian Schweinsteiger has a message for Man United supporters

Bastian Schweinsteiger has experienced some highs and lows already this week – and it’s only Wednesday.

The Germany midfielder celebrated his 32nd birthday on Monday as his United team-mates and national team colleagues sent messages of congratulations to the World Cup winner on his latest milestone.

However, Schweinsteiger was also faced with a report in The Daily Mail that claimed the seven-time Bundesliga winner has been axed to the reserve squad dressing room and sent to train with Manchester United’s Under-21 side after being told to find a new club.

His brother Tobi – who plays for Bayern’s second string – took to Twitter and posted a cryptic message which many United supporters translated as a show of support for his older brother.

However, Schweinsteiger looked to be in high spirits as the veteran midfielder thanked United fans for all their unwavering support via a video on his Instagram page.

Schweinsteiger posted the above clip on the photo-sharing app and wrote the following caption:

“Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes and your amazing support!”
