West Ham poke fun at Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger over Mesut Ozil
West Ham have a little reminder for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger
West Ham have trolled Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger over the rivalry between Mesut Ozil and Dimitri Payet.
The Gunners midfielder finished as the Premier League’s most-creative player last season after a return of 19 assists in 35 appearances last season.
However, France midfielder Payet managed to eclipse Ozil’s tally of six goals in his first season as a Hammers player after the 29-year-old found the net on nine occasions.
Payet and Ozil went head-to-head at Euro 2016 as hosts France were 2-0 winners against Germany in the European championship semi-final in Paris.
And West Ham issued a timely reminder to Wenger that the east London club believe Payet is a better player than Ozil just days before the start of the Premier League.
The Hammers posted the below tweet after West Ham manager Slaven Bilic bumped into Wenger at a Premier League event earlier this week.

West Ham managed to beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium last season before a thrilling 3-3 draw with the Gunners at Upton Park earlier this year.
The north London side have signed Granit Xhaka, Takuma Asano and Rob Holding in the summer transfer window.
