Wolfsburg provides Julian Draxler transfer update amid Arsenal link

Wolfsburg provide transfer update on Germany forward Julian Draxler

Wolfsburg have ruled out the possibility of Julian Draxler leaving the Bundesliga club this summer.

The Germany international has been linked with a potential move to the Premier League in the summer transfer window.

German media outlet Bild reported on Wednesday morning that Draxler was set to leave the Bundesliga side this summer.

Draxler’s impressive club performances were reported to have caught the eye of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

The Frenchman has already expressed his desire to bolster his attacking options in the summer transfer window.

However, Wolfsburg felt compelled to issue a statement on their prized asset on Wednesday to address the speculation in Bild.

Draxler scored six times in 22 Bundesliga appearances for Wolfsburg last season following his big-money switch from Schalke 04 in 2015.

Wenger signed Switzerland international Granit Xhaka in a £33m deal from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach earlier this summer.

The Arsenal manager also completed deals for Japanese forward Takuma Asano and Bolton Wanderers defender Rob Holding.

The Gunners finished in second place in the Premier League table last season.
