Richard Keys has claimed that Anthony Martial and Jose Mourinho are not each other’s biggest fans at Manchester United this season.

The Red Devils slumped to their third successive defeat in all competitions on Sunday as they slipped to a 3-1 loss to Watford at Vicarage Road in the Premier League.

Martial enjoyed a breakthrough season at Old Trafford last term after being handed a regular role in the Manchester United first team by Louis van Gaal after signing from Monaco last summer.

The French striker was a regular fixture in the Red Devils side and helped United finish fifth and win the FA Cup last season.

However, the 20-year-old has found his first-team opportunities under new manager Mourinho more limited this season and has not yet scored for the Red Devils this term.

And Keys has claimed that Mourinho and Martial do not always see eye-to-eye at United.

Writing in his personal blog, Keys said: “I do hear worrying stories of a little unrest amongst a few players and I understand that Antony Martial is not his biggest fan – nor Mourinho Martial’s.

“That’s certainly something to keep an eye on.

“Martial wouldn’t be the first wide man that Mourinho has fallen out with would he? He’s got some serious ‘previous’ with some very high profile names on that front.”
