Alex Iwobi warns Arsenal over current form ahead of Middlesbrough clash
Alex Iwobi tells his Arsenal team-mates not to get too carried away with themselves this season
Alex Iwobi has warned his Arsenal team-mates that they cannot afford to get carried away by their strong start to the new season.
The north Londoners continued their fine recent form by thrashing Ludogorets 6-0 in the Champions League at The Emirates on Wednesday night to take a step closer towards the knockout phase of Europe’s elite club competition.
Arsenal are currently second in the Premier League table and level on points with leaders Manchester City after eight games.
Arsene Wenger’s men will be looking to make it seven wins in a row in the top flight when they host Middlesbrough at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
And midfielder Iwobi wants the north London side to stay calm and focused as they look to continue their strong form.
Speaking in an interview with Arsenal’s website, Iwobi said: “We’re not trying to get ahead of ourselves, we’re taking each game as it comes.
“It’s basically our mental side that we were working on. We’ve still added that to our game and we believed if we’re mentally prepared in ourselves for this game that we would do well in November and it won’t be such a tough time, hopefully.”
Arsenal have won all of their Premier League games since dropping points to Liverpool and Leicester City at the start of the season.
