Ander Herrera: This is what Zlatan Ibrahimovic is like at Man United
Ander Herrera discusses Zlatan Ibrahimovic's impact at Manchester United this season
Ander Herrera has revealed that he has been stunned by Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s professionalism since his arrival at Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
The Swedish striker has made a strong start to life at Old Trafford after joining the club on a free transfer following his exit from Paris Saint-Germain.
Ibrahimovic has scored six goals in 11 games for Jose Mourinho’s men so far this season and has been a regular fixture in the Red Devils’ first team.
The 34-year-old appears to be in peak physical condition as he adapts to life in the Premier League.
And Spanish midfielder Herrera has revealed that Ibrahimovic has been the model of professionalism since his arrival at the club.
Speaking in an interview with MUTV, Herrera said: “You see the way Zlatan behaves. The way he trains even before the training session, he is always stretching, taking care of his body, so that is the way a professional player has to behave.
“But I cannot forget Wayne [Rooney] as well. He’s a top player, the same as Zlatan in every training session. Michael Carrick as well. We can’t forget Michael, Wayne, Ashley Young… they all train hard every day. They are examples for us.
“When I was not at a top team I used to admire these kinds of players. I wanted to be like one of them one day, to be at Manchester United for eight or nine seasons, but it is not easy. You always have to work hard.”
Both Ibrahimovic and Herrera will be hoping to feature when United return to Premier League action after the international break with a crunch clash against Liverpool at Anfield.
