Arsenal legend delivers blunt verdict on Tottenham’s title chances
The former Arsenal defender doesn't believe Tottenham have what it takes to win the Premier League title
Lee Dixon has poured cold water on talk of Tottenham Hotspur winning the Premier League title this season.
The north London side are being talked up as potential title winners after the Lilywhites were 2-0 winners against Premier League leaders Manchester City at White Hart Lane in their last home game.
Tottenham finished in third place in the title race last season after Mauricio Pochettino’s side challenged Leicester City for the Premier League crown throughout most of the 2016-17 campaign.
Manchester United legend Roy Keane rubbished talk of the north London outfit winning the Premier League title this season after Tottenham’s goalless draw with Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
His ITV Sport colleague Dixon, who won three titles with Arsenal during a decorated playing career, explained why he doesn’t believe Pochettino’s Tottenham side can go all the way in the title race.
“I agree with Roy [Keane}. There is something missing. They aren’t quite the whole package for me. Harry Kane being out and scoring goals worries me going forward,” Dixon told ITV Sport.
Tottenham signing five players in the summer transfer window, including Kenya international Victor Wanyama and Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
