Arsenal legend explains why Ibrahimovic and Pogba part of Man United’s problem

The Arsenal legend hasn't been impressed with Man United duo Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba

Paul Merson has accused Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic of ignoring the rest of their Manchester United team-mates on the pitch.

The Red Devils have struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League in recent weeks after having collected 13 points from a possible 21 after seven top-flight games so far.

Jose Mourinho signed Ibrahimovic in a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in July before United brought Pogba back to Old Trafford in a world-record £89m deal from Serie A giants Juventus.

While Ibrahimovic has scored a respectable six goals in 11 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils, France international Pogba has netted just once in eight games so far.

Former Arsenal midfielder Merson hasn’t been impressed with Ibrahimovic and Pogba as the retired England playmaker accused the pair of only passing the ball to themselves.

“United have problems,” Merson wrote in his Daily Star column.

“Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba just seem to look for each other all the time and ignore everyone else.”

United will make the trip to their bitter rivals Liverpool in their next Premier League game at Anfield on Monday 17 October.
