Arsenal star determined to repay Arsene Wenger’s faith in him

Laurent Koscielny pays tribute to Arsene Wenger...

Laurent Koscielny has hailed Arsene Wenger for the impact the Frenchman has had on his career since joining Arsenal.

The centre-half has developed into one of the top defenders in the Premier League after arriving at Arsenal from Lorient in the summer of 2010 for an undisclosed free.

Koscielny is now a regular fixture in the Arsenal first team and has become a reliable figure in the Gunners’ starting line up.

And the France international has admitted that he is keen to repay the faith in him shown by Wenger over the years.

Speaking in an interview with Goal, Koscielny said: “He was the man who gave me the chance to move to a big club.

“He took the risk of buying me in a small club making me grow as a player and man. He managed his bet I think I try to prove that he was right to trust me.”

“I want to give him back that, but I’m not the only example, there have been many. He did a great job during his years at Arsenal.”

Koscielny scored the controversial winner as Arsenal beat Burnley 1-0 in the Premier League last weekend.
