Michael Owen states his prediction for Bournemouth v Tottenham
Michael Owen looks ahead to Tottenham's clash with Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday
Michael Owen is backing Bournemouth hold Tottenham Hotspur to a draw in Saturday’s Premier League clash.
The Lilywhites have been one of the Premier League’s top sides so far this season and are the only unbeaten team left in the English top flight.
Spurs were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by West Bromwich Albion in their most recent outing last weekend.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are currently in third place in the Premier League table and one point behind leaders Manchester City after eight games this term.
However, former Liverpool and England striker Owen is tipping Saturday’s early kick-off to end all square between Spurs and Bournemouth.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Bournemouth continue to impress and I wasn’t surprised they gave Hull a bit of a hiding at Dean Court last weekend.
“The Cherries only ever win against Spurs was in the FA Cup back in February 1957 and the north London side hit eight in the two Premier League games last season.
“I think they will find this Bournemouth side a totally different proposition.”
Tottenham earned plenty of praise for their attacking play last season as they ended up third in the Premier League table – despite being Leicester City’s closest challengers for much of the campaign.
They were pipped to second place by Arsenal on the final day of last season.
