Chelsea handed big injury boost ahead of Leicester clash – report
Captain John Terry is in line to return to action for Chelsea against Leicester this weekend, say reports
Chelsea are confident that John Terry will make his return to action in Saturday’s Premier League clash against Leicester following his lay-off with an ankle injury, according to reports in the British media.
The London Evening Standard is reporting that the Blues are expecting to welcome back their captain, who has been sidelined since the 2-2 draw with Swansea City last month, this weekend.
The same report says that Terry’s return to action has been delayed by a number of setbacks in training but that he is now on course to make his return.
Terry has been forced to sit out a number of key games for the west London side, including defeats by Liverpool and Arsenal in the Premier League.
The return of Terry would be a welcome boost for Antonio Conte’s side, who faced question marks about their defending during the 3-0 loss to Arsenal at The Emirates.
Terry’s future had been a source of speculation last season but he ended up signing a one-year contract extension to keep him at the club until the end of this term at least.
Chelsea head into their clash against Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday lunchtime on the back of their 2-0 win at Hull before the international break.
