Chelsea star reveals that Arsenal legend is his footballing idol

Willian says he looked up to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry as one of his footballing idols

Willian has revealed that he looked up to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry as one of his footballing idols.

The Arsenal legend has now hung up his playing boots but finished his career as the north London club’s top goal-scorer and helped them win the Premier League title in the 2003-04 season without losing a game.

Henry is widely considered to be one of the best players to have ever graced the Premier League.

And Chelsea attacker Willian has revealed that he draws inspiration from the Arsenal legend and what he achieved at the north London club.

Willian is quoted as saying by Metro: “For me, in the Premier League, he [Henry] was one of the best players.

“The way he played, he scored so many goals – beautiful goals.”

Chelsea return to Premier League action this weekend with a home clash against defending champions Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.
