Thibaut Courtois was less than impressed by Eden Hazard's showboating during Belgium's thrashing of Gibraltar
Thibaut Courtois has revealed that he was left angry by Eden Hazard for his showboating in Belgium’s 6-0 win over Gibraltar on Monday night.
Both of the Chelsea stars featured to help Roberto Martinez’s side claim all three points in their latest World Cup qualifier.
The Red Devils secured a more than comfortable win against their opponents but Courtois was not happy with Hazard for showboating during the game.
Courtois is quoted as saying by Metro: “I was angry with Eden Hazard because he tried a backheel in a part of the pitch where he shouldn’t have.
“I absolutely wanted to keep a clean sheet. I yelled to everyone understood that we had to stay sharp. We had little to gain here.
“We showed we respected our opponent. We have one and a half more years to improve and be ready for the World Cup.”
Hazard and Courtois will now report back to Chelsea to prepare for their Premier League clash against defending champions Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday lunchtime.
The Blues are looking to make it back to back wins in the top flight after their 2-0 triumph over Hull City before the international break.
Chelsea finished 10th and with their title defence in tatters in what proved to be a season to forget for the west London club last term.
