Antonio Conte states his prediction for Chelsea v Man United
Antonio Conte looks ahead to Chelsea's crunch clash with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday
Antonio Conte is expecting Chelsea’s clash with Manchester United on Sunday to be a tactical affair.
The Blues head into the game looking to make it three wins in a row in the Premier League after their recent victories over Hull City and Leicester City.
United, meanwhile, are aiming to bounce back to winning ways in the top flight after their recent draws against Stoke City and Liverpool.
The Red Devils were widely criticised for adopting a defensive approach as they contained Liverpool and held the Reds to a goalless draw at Anfield last Monday.
However, Conte is expecting Sunday’s clash at Stamford Bridge to be a similarly tactical affair in west London.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference on Friday, Conte said: “I watched the Liverpool game and it was a very tough game between two good teams who will fight for the title until the end of the championship.
“It was a tactical game. We saw two teams very close who paid great attention, above all when they were without the ball. On Sunday it will be a tactical game.
“When two great teams like Chelsea and Manchester United face each other that is normal.”
Chelsea are looking to bounce back from their disastrous 10th-placed finish in the Premier League last season following Jose Mourinho’s sacking, before the Portuguese coach was appointed as the new man in charge at Stamford Bridge.
