Michael Owen states his prediction for Chelsea v Man United
Michael Owen looks ahead to Manchester United's trip to Chelsea on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League
Michael Owen is expecting a cagey affair when Manchester United travel to Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Red Devils head into the game looking to get back to winning ways after their goalless draw at Anfield on Monday night.
United are currently five points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City after successive draws against Stoke and Liverpool.
Sunday marks the first time that Jose Mourinho will return to Stamford Bridge following his sacking by Chelsea back in December.
And former Liverpool striker is expecting the Red Devils to adopt a defensive approach in west London.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “The first time Jose Mourinho has managed a side other than Chelsea in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge although he did knock the Blues out of the Champions League in March 2010 when in charge of Inter.
“It promises to be tight and it would be no surprise to see United play in a similar vein to the tactics employed at Anfield on Monday.”
Chelsea head into the game on the back of successive wins in the top flight.
The Blues have already suffered defeats by Arsenal and Liverpool in the Premier League under new manager Antonio Conte and will be keen to avoid defeat against Mourinho’s United side on Sunday.
